4. Attendee unrest at an I-League match between Aizwal FC and Mohun Bagan in 2018
Playing at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Aizawl is difficult in and of itself, especially when there are a lot of spectators there. It was an I-League match between Aizawl FC and Mohun Bagan during the 2017–18 season. Senthil Nathan, the referee, made a series of debatable judgments that led to unrest and violence among the spectators.
The Mariners were given a penalty kick at the other end of the field after the referee rejected the host team's demand for a penalty. They caused the situation to boil up, and it exploded when fan-favorite Alfred Jaryan of Aizawl was dismissed in the 89th minute.
Angry spectators started throwing bottles, chairs, and stones at the referee. They also started to mistreat them. To begin the process of systematically emptying the stands, police had to enter the playing field. That was an extremely disgusting fight.
5. Tutu Bose, a Mohun Bagan administrator, made a sexist comment after his team won the Calcutta Football League in 2018.
Mohun Bagan won the Calcutta Football League, West Bengal's top-tier football competition, in 2018, ending a nine-year absence. Nevertheless, Tutu Bose, one of their officials, made misogynistic remarks that made their league triumph unappealing.
Tutu Bose said when asked how winning the league made him feel after eight girls were born into the family to a TV host of the station where the game was broadcast. His comparison focused on East Bengal's eight straight CFL championships between 2010 and 2017.
The sexist comment received harsh criticism from a number of places. In a few days, Bose was forced to issue a formal apology for his sexist statements.
