Arvind Kejriwal has been the most happening talk of the town, now Delhi court has rejected Delhi Chief Minister's plea seeking a daily consultation with his doctor through video conference.
While passing the order, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja said that in case Kejriwal requires any special consultation in jail, Tihar authorities can constitute a medical board comprising doctors from AIIMS. Baweja said the board will further decide whether the Delhi CM requires insulin.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court on Monday listed Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging the Enforcement Directorate’s summons to him in connection with the excise policy case for May 15. Kejriwal has also challenged the constitutional validity of certain provisions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in regards to arrest, questioning and grant of bail.
A division bench of Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Manoj Jain granted two weeks to the CM to file his rejoinder to the ED's reply. The matter is next listed on May 15.
Earlier today, Kejriwal wrote to the Tihar Superintendent calling the jail officials’ statements on insulin false, AAP sources claimed. In the letter, the AAP supremo accused the jail administration of lying under “political pressure.” “In the letter, he said the statements of Tihar administration are false and said he has been asking for insulin on a daily basis. During the day, his sugar levels see a spike thrice and read anywhere between 250 to 320,” news agency PTI quoted a source from AAP as saying.
The Tihar administration, in a statement released Sunday, said that they had arranged a video conference between Kejriwal and AIIMS specialists, wherein the issue of insulin was not raised by either the CM, nor was it suggested by the doctors.
