Amma.
Growing up in a small cow-dung-plastered, coconut-leaf thatched house, my mother taught me that my dreams shouldn’t be small - they should be as big as my little brain could come up with. But all my childhood, I have seen Amma sacrifice her happiness for mine: the last shred of joy she had, she gave up for me - for her son.
Then, I was just a young boy who knew nothing.
But now, as a parent of two, I know what she felt, and why she did that.
It’s safe to say that everything in my life starts and ends with her.💎
Remya.
Our journey began when she came up to me during a wedding at my native - and confessed her love for me. It came as a surprise - but turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve taken to date.
Our companionship has now seen 18 years of struggle, sacrifice, adjustments, ups, and downs, laughs and tears - and one thing has remained the same: the love and respect we have for each other. She remains the gatekeeper to all my secrets and my confidante - always.
I can’t wait to grow old together with her!❤
Kallu.
They say once you bring a child into the world - it’s not about you anymore. I quickly realised this was true after our firstborn, Aiswarya, entered our lives.
As a parent, your sole duty is to make sure your child grows up with the best life, the best people and the best memories. I will be honest, I might not have been the best father to her with all that’s going around me, and I am constantly putting in my efforts to contribute more to our relationship.
Having said that, I strongly believe that we are more than a father-daughter duo, and she remains my biggest critic - professionally and otherwise. Several conversations with this soon-to-be 18-year-old have turned out to change the way I think about life in general.
How beautiful is that, right!?✨
