As the planktons made merry,
Our feet splashed against the surf.

Softer than the ones in the ocean,
Yet nurturing, more so at dusk.

Scurrying along the shoreline,
All of them molluscs and crabs would agree..

As we washed ourselves in the backwater,
The stars and moonlight gleemed a sheen.

Silhouettes of ourselves, left unmurmured,
For a promise of a ride back to the mainland.

A little if not more,
We left our prints on the sand!
