What do we call someone who fails in the most perfect way?
An artist.
An artist fails every time he imagines.
An artist loves his muse more than he loves his lover. He is guilty of not being selfless.
An artist cries for help every time he is alone. Help arrives - in the form of premonitions and hallucinations which suffocate him to the point where he is compelled to create yet another masterpiece; a masterpiece he never intended to create. An artist is just a human masquerading as a God-like creature tricking people into believing in his art, when he himself doesnβt believe in them. An artist, however, is adored by everyone and loved by no one.
An artist continually makes desperate, hapless attempts to woo himself but fails miserably every single time. An artist contradicts himself when he believes that he believes nothing at all, thus creating a monumental paradox that strangulates him until his eyes gouge out of his sockets and attach themselves to his creation; the artist now blindly annihilates his creation which watches its own death with the eyes of its creator. This chaotic frenzy of creation and destruction continues eternally inside the mind of the artist like a song stuck on loop.
An artist is a hyperbole, personified. An artist is the nightmare of a realist because he can play with the dimensions of reality with absolute ease. Such power can be dangerous β dangerous enough to turn him upside down with blood flowing swiftly through his veins down to his head where it mixes with his toxic nightmares, slowly poisoning his entire soul, thereby creating the alter ego of an artist β a mortal. An artist is therefore, a hypocrite β he wishes to be immortal but cannot resist the temptation of a poetic death.
But who is this artist? Is it God? Or is it something more powerful?...
