Wow
The bike trip to Leh- Ladakh was a breathtaking experience that I got to experience which was the adventure of my lifetime. The beautiful landscapes, the mesmerizing mountains, the clear skies, and the monasteries all are breathtaking.
We started our biking adventure from Manali and reached Leh. We visited the Shanti stupa and then the Hall of Fame where the stories of our brave soldiers can be witnessed.
From Leh, we moved on to Nubra Valley- Hunder via the Khardungla pass (17000ft) the highest motorable road to date but now another road has taken its place.
In Hunder we saw the two hump camel and spent our night under the tent while gazing at the shining stars above. We then biked to Turtuk- the last village of India where we saw just 2km away our Indian soldiers guarding the country's borders with utmost pride.
After Turtuk we marshaled our bike towards Pangong Lake and in between the terrain was like a roller coaster ride with biking off-road and through the water channels. Pangong Lake is the highest saltwater lake in the world but its beauty lies within the blue-pink colour which can be seen in the lake water.
From Pangong, we drove the last leg of our trip through Drass, Kargil and finally reached Sonmarg through the Zozila pass where we bid adieu to our beloved bikes after riding for 1300km for 10 days.
The trip was not just an adventure but a lifelong learning experience of patience, resilience and a never-give-up attitude.
As our marshal said-‘Ladakh is not a place it’s an emotion.’
Will be remembered always by myself.
