A devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck off Taiwan's east coast on Wednesday, prompting tsunami warnings across the island and neighboring regions.
The quake's epicenter was located about 18km (11 miles) south of Taiwan's Hualien city, as confirmed by the US Geological Survey.
Tragically, multiple buildings in Hualien have partially collapsed, teetering at dangerous angles. Seismology officials have labeled this the most powerful earthquake to hit Taiwan in a quarter-century.
Sending our prayers 🙏🏻
