symbolic protest; Afghan journalists in Pakistan mourned the "death of freedom of expression" in Afghanistan
In one year of the Taliban's domination of Afghanistan, a number of Afghan journalists who took refuge in Pakistan mourned the "death of freedom of expression" in a symbolic protest.
These journalists said with slogans that "Taliban is the enemy of freedom of expression" and "has turned Afghanistan into a prison for journalists".
With the fall of the Afghan government in the hands of the Taliban, dozens of media stopped their activities, thousands of journalists lost their jobs, and dozens of journalists fled the country due to the fear of the Taliban.
A large number of journalists are now living in exile in Pakistan and Iran. A number of these journalists said in a symbolic protest that there is no freedom of expression under the Taliban rule and journalists have spent the past year in silence.
