Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West that a direct conflict between Russia and the U.S.-led NATO military alliance would mean the planet was one step away from World War 3 but said hardly anyone wanted such a scenario.
The Supreme Leader of Russia has won the exit polls by a landslide margin and organized a victory press conference in which he made aforesaid statement.
He was asked to respond to Emmanuel Macron's recent comments by a Reuters journalist, to which he said that World War III could arrive faster than anticipated, and that nobody is interested in it.
The now longest-serving Russian president in over 200 years asserted that "history repeated itself." He highlighted the nation's recent progress in various fields, like science and technology, and thanked the military for it's services. He added that whoever intended to overtake Russia, would eventually fail to do so.
In the polls that concluded today at 8 PM, it was reported by The Mirror that Putin won by a margin of 88% and none of his competitors could go past 5% votes each.
In a previous incident, as reported by the Times of India, Putin's top advisor, Dmitry Medvedev also sent a warning across to Western nations. As per the report, he had said that Russia could be the 'accidental initiators' of the Third World War. He had also taken a jab at the various leaders in the West, calling them 'incompetent' and accusing them of being nonchalant towards the impending threat of war.
In a separate statement, Putin asserted the fact that if necessary, he would be willing to use nuclear weaponry to protect the Russian sovereignty, as per AP's sources.
