Barcelona's defender Ronald Araujo is set to decide his future in the coming days. The Uruguayan's contract is ending in 2026 and this has sparked speculation with Bayern Munich and Manchester United showing interest.
Barcelona want Araujo to stay and has offered a new deal until 2028 with a salary increase, though not among the highest earners. However, the defender hasn't decided yet, keeping other options open.
If Araujo doesn't extend, Barcelona could be look to sell the player to benefit financially from a summer sale. Bayern Munich, interested in Araujo, could leverage Barcelona's interest in Joshua Kimmich for negotiations.
Manchester United are also expected to make a formal offer if Araujo is open to leaving Barcelona. Chelsea is also interested, but they are unlikely contenders at the moment. It is expected that the Barça captain will make a decision by the end of May.
The 25-year-old has been vocal about staying on with the club and Barcelona too want to keep him. However with other clubs open to giving the Uruguayan an improved contract, Araujo will certainly have his options when the season ends.
