Real Madrid Beat Man City on Penalties, Through to the Semi-finals!
After a back and forth quarterfinal tie that ended 4-4 on aggregate, Real Madrid beat Manchester City on penalties to advance to the semi-finals of this seasons UEFA Champions League.
Following the 3-3 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg, Real Madrid started the game on the front foot at the Etihad Stadium. Rodrygo scored in the 12th minute to give the visitors the lead. However Manchester City equalized in the second half as Kevin De Bruyne scored from close range to take the game to extra time and eventually penalties.
Real Madrid had a horrific start to their shootout after Julian Alvarez scored for City while Luka Modric missed for Madrid. However the home side would then lose all their advantage as Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva missed their respective spot kicks. Bellingham, Vasquez, Nacho, and Rudiger made sure to dispatch their respective kicks to help Real Madrid to a 4-3 win in the penalty shootout.
With City knocked out, Are Real Madrid going to win their 15th UEFA Champions League title this season? Let me know your thoughts...
