Between now and September, there will be a rare explosion 3,000 light years away in the T Coronae Borealis binary star system.
This event, known as a nova, happens every 80 years or so due to a close orbit between a red giant and a white dwarf.
It will create a bright flash in the sky, visible to amateur astronomers without special equipment.
This is one of only about 10 known recurring novas in our galaxy and nearby galaxies, making it a rare and exciting event for sky gazers.
