🚂
This museum is a glimpse into the past of how private and princely states railways merged in the British era.🚂
A suburban timetable from 1948, a model of a steam engine, signaling equipment, a model of 1928 EMUs, and a working model of the Auxiliary Warning System, among others. These displays offer a glimpse into the development of the Western Region railway lines in India. A map from the 1930s illustrates the Western line's route from Mumbai through Vadodara and Ratlam, connecting with the GIP Railway at Mathura, and extending to Delhi and Peshawar.
The Frontier Mail, also known as the Golden Temple Mail, used to travel all the way to Peshawar.
Among other interesting artefacts, it was a revelation to learn that sliverware dishes were used in railways catering during the Indian Raj days.
It even has relics of actual instruments, meters, used in the railway.
It cost ne 100Rs abd there's student discount as well. There will be a guide with you as well.
