The European Union (EU) has said that dialogue with the Islamic Emirate does not mean recognizing the new government but a need for continued humanitarian assistance and engagement.
The EU statement called on the interim government to take prompt, meaningful, and tangible steps to establish a comprehensive government that reflects Afghan society's ethnic, political, and religious diversity, in which men and women hold high positions. "Let them work to pave the way for a national compromise."
