President Draupadi Murmu addressed students at the 107th Annual Day and Convocation of Lady Hardinge Medical College on Monday. She said that it is important to be a good human being to become a better health care professional. The primary objective of doctors should not be to make money but to put service before self. Today medical science is not limited to treatment only. Its scope has become very wide. The gap between the physical, digital and biological spheres is diminishing due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. New experiments in synthetic biology and new technologies like CRISPR gene editing are proving helpful in finding solutions to age-old problems. She added, " I expect medical professionals to act in accordance with ethics and high values in life. On this occasion, 580 students of the college were given degrees. Of these, 68 students were honored with special awards. In this special award, the President honored 12 students by giving them awards and certificates. During the function, College Director Professor (Dr.) Subhash Giri presented the annual report of the college.
