Pogba Set to Appeal Four-Year Doping Ban!
It was confirmed yesterday that Juventus star Paul Pogba has recieved a four-year ban for doping. The Frenchman tested positive for a banned substance last September and he has since agreed that he took the substance 'unknowingly'.
Following the decision of the ban, Pogba has now confirmed that he will look to appeal this decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Though it is unlikely that the ban would be completely overturned, his total sentence could be shortened if the court agrees.
Taking to social media, Pogba wrote, "I am sad, shocked, and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me. As a professional athlete, I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances, and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against. As a consequence of the decision announced today, I will appeal this before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”
Will the appeal help Pogba reduce his ban sentence? Let me know your thoughts...
