Parineeti Chopra Speaks Out on Bollywood Lobbying and Career Challenges
Parineeti Chopra, fresh off the success of her Netflix film *Amar Singh Chamkila*, has opened up about the challenges of navigating Bollywood. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she discussed how the industry often relies on networking and socializing to secure roles, rather than just talent. "My PR game sucks," she admitted, adding that she's not always present at the right events or in the right circles.
Chopra emphasized her desire for more equal opportunities in Bollywood and called for a change in the system of lobbying. Despite her early success, including a National Award for *Ishaqzaade*, she feels she hasn't been as involved in the social scene as some of her peers. "I want directors and producers to call me for my work because I am willing to work hard," she said.
Now married to politician Raghav Chadha, Chopra is finding herself more involved in politics, though she humorously notes that her husband isn't as familiar with the entertainment world. As she looks ahead, Chopra remains hopeful for a more inclusive industry where merit prevails over connections.
