Nilam Sanjeep Xess, born on November 7, 1998, is an Indian field hockey defender. At the 2016 South Asian Games, he made his senior international debut for the national squad. He led India to victory in the 2016 Boys Under-18 Asia Cup. Nilam Sanjeep Xess, a tribal hockey star from Sundargarh in Odisha, has lived in poverty for years in a mud and thatched hut in the district. He will play for India in the upcoming FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela hockey games. Defensive player Nilam is Bipin Xess's younger son from Saranapali village in Kadobahal panchayat, Kuanrmunda tehsil, 12 kilometres from Biramitrapur. Nilam has two sisters and a brother. The modest kutcha house was constructed approximately 40 years ago with funds borrowed from a few local people. Nilam's father Bipin and mother Jira are daily wagers, and the family comes to the Below Poverty Line.

Nilav Sanjeep Xess Records
Nilam was a member of the Indian hockey team that won a silver medal in the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati and Shillong. Later that year, in the fourth U-18 Asia Cup, he guided the Indian team to victory. The renowned Odisha defender won a Bronze Medal with his teammates while representing the Indian youth squad at a five-nation U-23 men's hockey tournament in Belgium.
