My childhood would have been half empty without this legend! Crayon Shin-chan or more popularly know as Shinchan is a Japanese anime cartoon series that first appeared as a comic series in 1990. Later, the television adaptation of this series was aired in 1992. It has 1000+ episodes and 26 full-length movies. (I didn’t know that before seriously, let me know which all movies have you seen!). This show has been dubbed in 30 languages and it still airs in 45 countries.
This naughty 5years old character definitely ruled over millions of hearts. My day would just be incomplete without his funny bickering! Honestly, I still watch this show every single day. Almost all of its episodes are imprinted in my memory but it still makes me laugh and become the little girl I was. Even if this series stopped airing I would still make sure that my kids watch this by hook or crook. I know that all fans feel the same.
In our childhood, the only thing we used to watch was cartoon series and this tradition is continues even today, though there are many new platforms to watch it on. But I would like to highlight the influence of cartoons on children and the minor changes we can make to save children from inculcating boorish behaviour.
I would like to cite a small example of mine. When I was a child, I used to watch Shinchan. It was the only cartoon that I used to watch during my childhood and by watching it, I inculcated the mischievousness of Shinchan and the word “Mom”. Though I am mature enough now, I still address my mother with “Mom”. It might sound stupid, but I wanted to highlight the effect of cartoons on children. Cartoons can change the cognitive behaviour of children.
