Mourinho Eyeing A Manchester United Return!
Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a surprising return to Manchester United, more than five years after his 2018 departure. Recently let go by Roma, the 61-year-old is said to be eager for a second stint at Old Trafford, citing "unfinished business."
A friend of Mourinho revealed his determination to the Daily Mail, claiming that the manager has made it his mission to manage United again if an opportunity arises. However, the likelihood of this happening soon seems slim at the moment. Erik ten Hag is currently in the second year of a three-year contract, and the Dutchman seems to have backing and enough optimism from the higher-ups at the club.
Mourinho, United's third permanent manager post-Sir Alex Ferguson, brought success in his initial 2016-2018 tenure, securing the signings of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba and winning the Carabao Cup and Europa League in his first season.
It seems unlikely that Manchester United will release Erik Ten Hag even if the club misses out on European football completely. It has to be seen if Mourinho gets another chance to manage the club in the coming days.
