Lucknow Super Giants have secured the services of former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener as an assistant coach for the upcoming IPL 2024. Currently in charge of Durban's Super Giants in the SA20, Klusener will join head coach Justin Langer and fellow assistant coach S Sriram in the Super Giants coaching staff.
This marks Klusener's second stint as an IPL coach, having previously served as an assistant coach alongside former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock at Mumbai Indians during the early years of the tournament. Under Klusener's coaching, Guyana Amazon Warriors claimed their maiden CPL title last year.
The IPL franchise has also welcomed West Indies sensation Shamar Joseph, who previously worked with Klusener at Amazon Warriors in the CPL, as Mark Wood's replacement.
Lance Klusener has a wealth of coaching experience, having served as the head coach of Afghanistan and as a batting coach for South Africa and Zimbabwe. Additionally, he has worked with Tripura in the Indian domestic circuit. Klusener, known for his illustrious playing career, represented South Africa in 49 Tests and 171 ODIs from 1996 to 2004.
Lucknow Super Giants are set to commence their IPL 2024 campaign against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on March 24.
