Lok Sabha MP Ritesh Pandey, who left BSP, has always been in the news. Ritesh's entire education was done abroad. He became active in politics since 2012.Ritesh, who studied abroad, started his political journey in 2012. In the assembly elections held at that time, due to the efforts of his father BSP leader Rakesh Pandey, BSP gave ticket to Ritesh from Jalalpur seat. The contest was against the very powerful leader SP candidate Sher Bahadur Singh. Only Sher Bahadur got the victory.In the 2017 elections, Ritesh again contested from Jalalpur on BSP ticket. This time he succeeded in becoming MLA by defeating BJP candidate Rajesh Singh, son of Sher Bahadur, by a huge margin. Meanwhile, BSP gave ticket to Ritesh in the Lok Sabha elections held in the year 2019. He defeated BJP candidate then Cooperative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma and became MP by winning as a candidate of SP-BSP alliance.
