Liverpool 4-2 Tottenham: The Spurs' UEFA Champions League Qualification Hopes are All But Over!
Tottenham Hotspur's season has just fallen flat since the start of April. The Spurs, who started their 2023/24 campaign strong, and were even on top of the table in the first few matchweeks will likely even miss out on a top four berth.
Ange Postecoglou's side have picked up just one Premier League win in their last six games. Including the loss to Liverpool, Tottenham's last four league fixtures have now ended in losses. Currently fifth in the table, the Spurs are unlikely to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.
Only the top four teams from the Premier League will qualify for the Champions League next season. Aston Villa currently occupy the fourth spot with 67 points while Tottenham are on 60 points. Though the Villains have played a game more, A win against either Liverpool or Crystal Palace in their last two fixtures will guarantee Aston Villa a Champions League berth.
Tottenham's last three games are against Burnley, Manchester City, and Sheffield United. Postecoglou's side have to gain all nine points but even that might not be sufficient as their destiny is no longer in their hands.
Can the Spurs still finish in the top four? Let me know your thoughts...
