Indian Forest Services officer Dr. Ramesh Kumar P has been appointed as Conservator of Forest (Project Tiger), Mysuru. Dr. Ramesh who is an IFS officer of 2008 batch and Karnataka cadre was currently serving as Field Director, Bandipur National Park. Under the new role, he will have higher responsibility to take care of all the five Tiger reserves of Karnataka .
He has been chosen for the post after consideration of his experience in Wildlife & good performance at Bandipur TR. Dr. Ramesh served in Bandipur for the last two years. During his tenure Bandipur TR didn’t report any fire for last 3 years. Bandipur also got no. 2 in India among 53 tiger reserves in the MEE exercise and with one of the highest population of Tiger, Elephant & Leopard population in the country.
