Jyotika Makes Shocking Revelation: No Bollywood Film Offered in 27 Years
South Indian actress Jyotika recently revealed in an interview that she hasn't been offered any Bollywood films in the last 27 years.
Jyotika, who made her Bollywood debut in the 90s with "Doli Saja Ke Rakhna," quickly shifted to South Indian cinema after that. Recently, she made a strong comeback with her role in "Shaitaan" alongside Ajay Devgn.
During a recent interview with News 18 Showsha, Jyotika spoke candidly about her absence from Bollywood. She mentioned that after her initial film failed, she transitioned to South Indian films. Jyotika further disclosed that despite her interest, no prominent Bollywood filmmakers approached her during these years.
The talented actress also highlighted the industry's reliance on successful debut films, suggesting that her first Bollywood project's performance may have impacted her subsequent opportunities. Additionally, she noted that the perception of her as a South Indian actress might have deterred Bollywood filmmakers from approaching her.
Jyotika mentioned facing competition from other Bollywood actresses working with major production houses during that time. Despite her debut film being backed by a prominent banner, its failure led her to pursue opportunities in the South Indian film industry.
Jyotika's return to Bollywood with "Shaitaan" was a notable comeback, and she's now set to impress audiences with her role in "Srikanth" alongside Rajkummar Rao.
"Srikanth" narrates the inspiring story of an industrialist who overcomes visual impairment to achieve success. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film stars Rajkummar Rao, Jyotika, and Alaya F and is scheduled for release on May 10, 2024.
Jyotika's revelations shed light on the challenges faced by actors in the film industry and highlight her determination to make a mark with her performances.
