The England international left Birmingham City to join Borussia Dortmund at the age of 17 in 2020. He spent three seasons in Germany before heading to Real Madrid last summer for €103 million (£88m). Bellingham has tasted success in his very first season in Spain having scored 20 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions thus far.
Speaking to reporters, the midfielder said, "I was at Dortmund for three years, I took an unfamiliar path, but there are things I can take back to the national team, and chances I wouldn't have had in England. Playing abroad is a good idea for young English players."
The 20-year-old has returned to England as part of the Los Blancos squad that will take on Manchester City in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday. The first leg in Madrid witnessed a mouth-watering clash where the hosts managed to hold the reigning champions to a 3-3 draw.
