Revenge for Rahul Dravid In the West Indies after 17 Years After World Cup Nightmare!
The year was 2007 when Rahul Dravid led an expereinced Indian Cricket Team to the ICC Cricket World Cup in West Indies. Having reached the final in 2003, India were regarded as one of the favourites. However, losses to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ensued that the Men In Blue were eliminated in the preliminary Group Stage after just to three games!
Dravid immidiately stepped down as captain as the Indian cricketing fraternity had suffered a massive jolt. Things eventually did recover under the leadership of M.S. Dhoni, however, Dravid's ODI career all but ended after the 2007 World Cup.
Going into the 2024 T20 World Cup, Dravid was tasked with his last assignment as the coach of the Indian cricket team. In contrast to 2007, The Men in Blue went unbeaten in the whole tournament, beating South Africa in the final to with the T20 World Cup for the second time.
Usually emotionless, Dravid did let out his joy after finally lifting an ICC World Cup trophy as life came a full circle for "The Wall" of Indian Cricket.
