Diogo Jota's recognition as the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for January is well-deserved, considering his impactful performances for Liverpool.
His contribution of three goals and two assists in just three appearances highlights his importance to the team's success, particularly in maintaining their position at the top of the table.
His achievement adds another feather to Liverpool's cap this season, alongside Mohamed Salah's earlier success.
Diogo Jota has won January 2024's EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, earning the prize for the first time in his career.
Jota claims the accolade after three goals and two assists in only three appearances, inspiring Liverpool to a perfect three wins from as many matches.
After recovering from injury at the end of December, the Portuguese came off the bench to provide an assist in a 4-2 win over Newcastle United on New Year's Day, before scoring a brace and setting up another goal as the Reds emphatically beat Bournemouth 4-0.
He then scored in a 4-1 victory against Chelsea for his fifth goal involvement of the month, the most of any Premier League player, helping Liverpool remain at the top of the table ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.
Jota topped a six-man shortlist that also included Elijah Adebayo, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Magalhaes, Richarlison and team-mate Conor Bradley.
He is the second Liverpool player to win the award this season, following on from Mohamed Salah's success in October.
Jota won after the public's votes on the EA SPORTS website were combined with those of a panel of football experts.
