Gun control has been a major topic of debate in the US for a very long time. Looking at the history of Americans, hunting was more than a profession.
It was a secondary source of food also protection against predatory animals. Moreover, it is a part of American Culture being a ritual for entering Manhood, for showcasing courage.
Hunting is illegal in many countries, forest and security personnel are appointed for the safety of citizens against animals. America remains savage in this area. In addition, America believes its greatest strength to be the weapon power it holds.
Before American Revolution, when America wasn't the power it is now, the confidence lasted in the guns, every citizen held. The unorganized military of Civilians is still a possibility in US law, consisting of everyone from the age of 17 to 46 including former military officers not above 64. For Americans, it's a fundamental right to have the power to hold guns.
