The John Wick film series is continuing in two different directions, with the most important questions following Chapter 4, in which Keanu Reeves' John Wick kind of dies. There are also questions to ask if John Wick really dead, and if the franchise is continuing with a spinoff movie Ballerina and a prequel series The Continental, starring Mel Gibson.
Keanu Reeves has left the door open for another installment of John Wick, explaining that the only reason they have had a chance to make these movies is that people have liked what they have done. Initial audience reaction is strong, but Reeves hasn't yet addressed the film's ending, where his character is kind of dead. Even a dead John Wick may not derail the franchise, as Chapter 4 introduces several new characters who could continue the story even without Keanu's Wick. John Wick could come back from the dead, as he has survived grievous injuries before.
Chad Stahelski's comments about a fifth installment of John Wick last summer suggest that the studio's intention is to continue the franchise. He believes that the movie has changed his and Keanu's lives, and that people still want to see more. Nine years later, the movie has changed his and Keanu's lives, and people still want to see more.
So, again, the answer is: Who knows.
Stahelski spoke to The Hollywood Reporter before Chapter 4's premiere, stating that he and Keanu are done with John Wick and will give it a rest. If everyone loves it, they'll do a Japanese tour and release the movie in September. They'll sit in the Imperial Hotel Scotch Bar and write ideas on napkins if those ideas stick.
So it seems the door is open both at a production level and at a narrative level.
The only remaining question might be: if John Wick 5 happens, will John Wick actually be in it?
