RCB Knocks Punjab Out of IPL 2024

The Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a convincing victory over the Punjab Kings last evening. It was a virtual do-or-die game for both these sides. RCB batted first and put up a huge total of 241 runs on the Board, thanks to a mesmerizing 92 from Virat Kohli. In reply, Punjab could only get to a total of 181 runs, short of the total by 60 runs.

This loss meant their virtual exit from IPL 2024. With just 4 victories in 12 matches, PBKS have 8 points with a negative Net Run Rate. They practically cannot make it to enough points to merit a qualification into the playoffs. Punjab thus becomes the second team after the Mumbai Indians to be knocked out of the tournament.
