IPL 2023 started with Gujarat Titans (GT) facing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and it will end in the same manner, as the two teams will clash in the final of the Indian Premier League. Can MS Dhoni manage to win his fifth title as captain and eventually equal Rohit Sharma’s record or will Hardik Pandya become the third skipper to lift the cup in two successive years? Well, it’s a harder question to answer as the players of both teams are in magnificent form at the moment.
In Qualifier 2, GT opener Shubman Gill wreaked havoc, scoring 129 runs off just 60 deliveries against Mumbai Indians and with that, the 23-year-old managed to hit his third century in his last four matches. Sai Sudharsan too looked in great form while with the ball, Mohammed Shami managed to pick up two wickets while Mohit Sharma once again was in brilliant form, picking up his maiden five-for this season.
When it comes to Chennai, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad will be a massive threat to Gujarat. They eventually crashed GT’s party in Qualifier 1 and now, on a batting-friendly pitch, the duo can prove to be very dangerous in the middle. On top of that, MS Dhoni has the much-needed experience that Hardik seems to be missing and that can prove to be a massive difference in the summit clash.
