In UP, the alliance has been finalized between SP and Congress, the constituent parties of India Alliance.  Congress is ready to contest elections on 17 seats.  It is being told that Priyanka Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav played an important role in the alliance.There was a detailed discussion on phone between the two leaders after which the decision was taken to finalize the alliance.  According to the decision taken between the two parties, Congress will contest on 17 seats.  SP will field its candidates on the remaining seats.  SP candidate will contest from Hathras seat and Congress candidate from Sitapur seat.Only Congress will contest elections on Amethi and Rae Bareli seats.  There will be a joint press conference of both the parties shortly.
