I started boxing in the year 2004, we had an academy in Manipur Imphal, Konga Amateur Boxing academy, although I was not specifically a big fan of boxing in particular but initially what was advantageous to me was that my academy was closer to my school which became a plus point and allowed me to attend school and simultaneously continue boxing practice in the academy. At that very time, the now well known famous boxing personalities like Mary Kom, Sarita, Suranjoy these names were heard very frequently in our boxing academy which all the more pushed me towards starting the sports and motivated me to become the world champion eventually.
Since my starting there has been several splendid experiences in boxing. Since 2006 I have played Nationals- 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 from which I have won one silver, the rest where I have been the national champion and from Junior youth level in 2014 and 2017, both years I have bagged the title of Best Boxer Award where we get 3 years to play and the third time I won the silver medal.
From 2011 I started playing International level, first of which was Youth World woman boxing championship held in Antalia and I was the first woman World champion. From 2011 again in youth level in Sri Lanka where I bagged three gold medals yet again, from 2013 I started International senior level and participated in the World championship where although I could be the champion but I reached the finals and won the silver and I believe that was also a huge learning lesson for me to grow stronger from.
