I loved the show. But as I watched the end of season 2 last night, I couldn't believe they left it the way that they did. It is obvious it was cancelled after season 2. That was an impending disappointment to have put so much detail and thought into the series only to leave such a cliffhanger. At least the "Gifted" series attempted to close the story line after it was cancelled, even though you could tell it was rushed. They could at least have attempted it.
It was definitely not a perfect storyline and could have certainly used a third season to wrap everything up after that cliffhanger series finale. Nevertheless, it's a unique and compelling take on angels and a fine example of how to take existing material—the Legion movie—and transition it into something almost completely different. The visual effects for angelic flight are quite impressive and still look great even today. Overall, it's an imaginative series, and it's a shame and a tragic waste that we didn't get to see it through to a proper conclusion. Another promising premise was cut short prematurely by Syfy's budget.
