Erik Ten Hag has done a brilliant job at Manchester United so far. The mood has significantly changed at Old Trafford and it feels incomparable to the negative vibes in the ground last season. United’s biggest win of the season came at home against Manchester City in the derby. This is the same side that brushed United away last season and did the double over their rivals. Leading into the game, Ten Hag’s men were in brilliant form, especially at home.
The fans were really up for it and the atmosphere at Old Trafford was fantastic. The home win against Arsenal earlier in the season saw the ground bouncing but this was by far the biggest win of the season for the fans. Ten Hag showed his tactical nous as he packed the midfield and started Bruno Fernandes. Casemiro, Fred and Christian Eriksen. This allowed United to negate City’s impact in the midfield, which makes them click so often. Fred was instructed to man-mark Kevin De Bruyne all game and did a fantastic job, De Bruyne managed to set free once and provided the assist for City’s first goal. This highlights the importance of stopping De Bruyne, which is something Ten Hag succeeded in throughout the game.
The return to form for Marcus Rashford has been pleasing to see this season for United fans and the manager deserves huge credit for this. Rashford is also worthy of praise for the revival of his form as he simplified the game and went back to basics.
