One of the most anticipated games of 2023, Hogwarts Legacy is also the most ambitious Harry Potter/Wizarding World game to come out yet and that certainly shows. Whether it is going exploring the Hogwarts castle, going to Hogsmeade, exploring the Forbidden Forest or flying broomsticks Hogwarts Legacy has it all in an environment that really brings the Wizarding World to life.
The magical world of Hogwarts Legacy honours the source material and adds plenty of interesting lore to the mix, thus enhancing the overall experience. There have been Harry Potter games in the past that have tried to capture the magical fantasy of the books and movies but none have been able to capture that magic as well as Hogwarts Legacy.
Exploration is the most fun thing to do here and the amount of places you can go is amazing. The castle in itself is a massive entity full of several floors, alleys and halls that are filled with students going about their day, various objects such as picture frames, knight armour, and other items can be interacted with as you pass by.
Ominous whispers can be heard as if the castle is calling to you, beckoning you to unravel the secrets it holds or warn of an impending doom.
Secrets are tucked away in every nook and cranny of this vast open world and spells such as Accio, Alohomora, Revelio, Wingardium Leviosa, and Lumos are some of the best ones to be used in exploration. The world of Hogwarts Legacy is jam packed with collectables, chests, gear and more while you can use spells to levitate enemies in the air, go on the offensive etc.
The combination of lush scenery, the sense of no limits and the success of the game in bringing the magic of the Harry Potter books to the game really just makes Hogwarts Legacy feel like a magical experience.
Where the game lacks is the plot consisting of a bland story and is further bogged down by some technical issues that can be fixed through patches, but overall this is the Harry Potter RPG that we need and deserve.
