So serene!
Lovely
I just got back from a trip around the Scottish highlands, where I (safely) saw a lot of beautiful places!
Our first stop was in Aviemore - a town in the Cairngorm National Park. From there we took a short walk over to the Rothimerchus Estate, where we had to miss the Highland Coos on the farm due to not having a car, but we did get to hike up to this beautiful loch!
The hike was fairly level, shaded, and dry and took around an hour to get to with the route we took, but less time going back. We passed the Lochan Mor, which made for a great place to stop for a rest. Once we got to the loch, there were plenty of people biking, picnicking, and canoeing. It honestly looked like I was back in the Rocky Mountains with the sun and pine trees! We would have loved to stay longer, but we had a train to catch.
If you ever find yourself in Aviemore, definitely try the hike to Loch an Eilein!
