"We come from a very small village in Haryana. As a girl, there weren't many career options to choose from. Wrestling was something I grew up watching and living, so...I took up the sport at the age of 7. Since then, there has been no looking back."
Phogat won three Indian national titles in wrestling before earning gold at the 2016 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship.
The next year, she won silver at the prestigious World Under-23 Wrestling Championships in Poland, becoming the first female Indian wrestler to do so. Soon after, she switched her focus to mixed martial arts.
She hopes to make her country proud with strong performances in ONE Championship and to become India's first female Mixed Martial Arts World Champion.
