The most senior of players in the England squad at the moment, Jordan Henderson's addition to the squad has been described as qualification based on experience and dressing room presence. Jordan Henderson isn’t popular for his world-class technical ability as a midfielder. Still, he's been able to combine a great work ethic with elite-level simplicity, and this has seen him captain Liverpool through their most successful period in this era.
Current Form
Jordan Henderson is part of the Liverpool team that has suffered from a terrible run of form this season. Often attributed to the hangover from the disappointment suffered at the end of last season and even fatigue from a lack of improvement, Henderson would be hoping to use this World Cup campaign to make a personal statement and go on to turn around his season at Liverpool.
World Cup
Henderson has been a part of the England set-up since January 2010, but he wasn’t a part of the World Cup squad that year. By 2014 however, he was a mainstay in the team, going into all major tournaments. In terms of International experience, there would be only a few players at this edition of the World Cup that would be able to rival Jordan Henderson. This would probably be his last international outing with England after making his debut in 2010 and garnering 70 caps for them since then.
Club career
Henderson started his career at Sunderland but moved to Liverpool in 2011. At Liverpool, he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the World and has won every trophy he could win. He also captains the side and is key to how Liverpool plays. He has scored 39 career goals and assisted 70 in all competitions.
