Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the construction of a road along with drainage with an RCC slab from Casa Amora phase 3 to the main road.
The ceremony was held in the presence of ZP representative Siddhesh Shripad Naik and Medha Parvatkar, the sarpanch of the village panchayat of Se Old Goa and local panch Ambar Amonkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Faldessai promised all possible help as an MLA to the local residents and assured them that now just this road but several other roads in the constituency were being taken up on a war footing in order that they be completed before the rains.
“Now the code of conduct has come into force, however, the works will not stop, only we will not be there for the inauguration,” Faldessai said.
He also said several other “beautification” works were being undertaken in the constituency including that of the beautification of the Carambolim lake as well as the beautification of the Old Goa Church complex ahead of the exposition of the relics of St Francis Xavier that is being held later this year.
Faldessai promised to work closely with the local panch and the panchayat body to take forward the works of the constituency on a war footing.
