External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday mentioned the current geopolitical developments and their adverse consequences. At the same time, he said that Russia is a power with a huge tradition of statecraft and is turning more towards Asia or non-Western parts of the world. Jaishankar made this comment in response to a question about the growing closeness of Moscow and Beijing at the Raisina Dialogue. The Foreign Minister said that Russia is important for other countries, especially Asia. He said that the policies of Western countries are bringing Russia and China closer. On one side you have people who make policies. Brings both of them together and then says be careful of their coming together. This question was asked by Michael Fullilove, executive director of Australia's Lowy Institute, regarding the closeness of the two countries.Earlier, Jaishankar had said that India has permanent and very friendly relations with Russia. Moscow has never harmed New Delhi's interests. Despite Moscow's attack on Ukraine, relations between India and Russia remained strong. Despite objections from many western countries, India has increased the import of crude oil from Russia.
