Doctors are often helpless in dealing with the relatives of the patients/violent patients.

I do believe that there is medical negligence. And there are many doctors and hospitals, especially in the private Healthcare sector, who see patients as milch cows. They exploit any emergency situation to make fast bucks

Then that doesn't mean every doctor is greedy and devoid of any scruples.  And often pushed against the wrath of the people,  doctors and health care professionals are without any defence.

The case that @ToufiqRashid is talking about is particularly sad. A patient who has come for a medical examination stabs a young doctor to death, after going berserk with policemen, a local politician and medical staff who all were around him at the hospital where this unfortunate doctor worked.

In this case, my doubt is that this patient, later said to be a drug addict, didn't under go any check for having any weapon on him by the cops before medical examination?

The police version is that it was this patient who made an SOS call to police. And when police reached out, he was seen  with some injuries, then the cops took him for medical examination. There the things went out of control.

Well, a precious life is lost. There have been many cases of attack against doctors. But none seems to have cared much. This is such a wake up call..
