After almost eight long years of the Democrats' desperate search for a crime to throw Trump behind bars, they've finally found one. It's amusing, however, that the charge they found was for a flimsy hush-money case involving a porn star, and not for the phony Russian ties, the manufactured Ukraine scandal, or his mean tweets.
It's quite telling that despite their countless allegations of serious crimes committed by Trump, they were only able to pin him down for a minor, meaningless, and frankly victimless crime. It just goes to show how politically motivated this was; they went on a fishing expedition looking for anything they could possibly charge him with.
What’s worse about this is that indictments are so easy to get, even when there’s little or no evidence. At this point, what has happened to Trump can now realistically happen to any former and sitting President or other elected official. Alvin Bragg has opened Pandora’s box for American to become a country rife with political prosecutions. No one, not even sitting presidents, will be safe until such time as Congress recognizes that putting political opponents in jail is not a political maneuver that should be tolerated by developed nations.
The Democrats had convinced themselves that Trump was an international criminal with deep ties to dictators, when in reality, he was just not a great guy. They used the now-proven false Steele-Dossier to fuel their belief that Trump was in cahoots with Putin and Russia. And, from that, they spun conspiracy theories that all Republicans were Russian sympathizers, ultimately leading them to accuse Trump of being a criminal.
It's a testament to the Democrats' desperation to remove Trump from office that they resorted to such tactics. Their obsession with taking him down led them down a path of conspiracy theories, fake news, and deceit. And in the end, it only served to undermine their credibility and further divide the country.
