I’m currently reading a collection of poetry book by Halsey called I would leave me if I could.

Just like their lyrics, Halsey poured her soul into writing these, dealing with various themes such as love, longing, sexuality, mental illness, family relations, and much more.

Here’s a few lines from one of my favourite poems so far titled “I WANT TO BE A WRITER!”:

“It is not a desire.

It is a clenched jaw and an aching back and a disposition to spite everything around you.

To find the world not worthy of your words,

and to find yourself unworthy of the world.”
