Akhilesh Kant Jha is a businessman and he has been the part of BJP youth wing team, who were helping people in the pandemic.
In an interaction with him he told about how even the time can't blur the memories of the pandemic.
Requests used to differ from one another, people had different problems and needs, some were beseeching for oxygen while some others were starving. But what remained common was the grief surrounding these people.
"In the beginning of the pandemic every call I recieved was for dry food but later it became more critical. But it was all possible when it was limited to arranging food for the ones who were starving, what became difficult was the request that came during second wave. It was not easy to arrange everything. There were requests for ECMO machines and critical medicines, arranging it urgently was burdensome," he said.
Amidst this chaos, lot of unauthentic information was spread, many unverified requests for oxygen and hospital beds made it difficult to provide help to the ones who were genuine.
"There were people who tried to misuse the information and because of them others who needed a genuine help were affected, we kept on looking into every request carefully so that time could be saved and people who were really suffering could get the required things on time. " he said.
Akhilesh talked about how even day and night hardwork of the team sometimes failed because of the callous situation.
"I feel it took a lot of time in finding things, I remember a woman, her financial situation was poor and she needed a hospital bed, we visited many hospitals but because of the hassle and lack of things it took a little long, eventually when we found the hospital bed it was of no use and the woman lost her life, these are some unforgettable incidents," he said.
