Faldessai said that more than 153 students are studying at the college, and hence the government is constructing this building for their benefit.
"This will benefit our students, and many students from outside the state will also come, and this will indirectly benefit our Goans. We didn't have an agriculture college earlier in Goa. Stating that the government is working to uplift farmers in the state, Faldessai said, "The Krishi Setu was recently inaugurated at Rs 3 crores for the benefit of 65 farmers who can undertake farming in an area of 65 lakh square metres which is lying fallow. We are working to take the farmers ahead, and they have benefitted."
He also said that beautification works at Old Goa were recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually, for which the work has commenced for Rs 17 crores.
On the overbridge at Gaundalim railway crossing, he said, "The foundation stone will be laid soon. It is pending as we need the signature of an official at the railway ministry who is at the Centre to sanction the technical work. Hence, it is held up. The work will be taken up at Rs 45 crores, and the overbridge will span 700 metres, 350 metres on both sides, and 20 metres in width. I will follow up with the chief minister as only he can take it up with the Centre. We will discuss whether we can lay the foundation stone on Tuesday or Wednesday."
