Chennaiyin 2-1 Odisha - On a Night When Prayers Were Needed, A Miracle Happened!
Going into the game, Odisha were firm favourites to win at the Marina Arena and solidify their position at the top of the table. However, Owen Coyle's side had other plans, delivering a solid display in their home turf to get all three points and keep their playoff hopes alive.
Chennaiyin started the game strong with Ankit Mukherjee scoring from a corner in the 6th minute. Odisha however made a comeback, scoring in the 78th minute courtesy of a header from Roy Krishna to level the scores at 1-1.
However, unlike the previous games, CFC actually brought the fight after conceding, testing Amrinder Singh multiple times before eventually delivering the killer blow in injury time. Jordan Murray jumped the highest to head home another corner to help Chennaiyin register a 2-1 win.
With three more home games to go, it has to be seen if the supporters can help Chennaiyin gain some more important points as they go up against the likes of Hyderabad, Jamshedpur, and Odisha.
