CBI on Saturday exposed a big child lifter gang in Delhi. The CBI team has also arrested seven people involved in this case. These gangs used to sell stolen children to childless parents through advertisements on social media.The CBI official said that based on the inputs we had received, our team had conducted a search operation at seven locations in Haryana and Delhi. In this operation we found two newborns, one of one and a half day old and the other of 15 days old. This gang was planning to sell them.The seven accused arrested by the CBI have been identified as Neeraj of Sonipat, Indu of Paschim Vihar, Delhi, Aslam of Patel Nagar, Pooja Kashyap of Kanhaiya Nagar, Anjali, Kavita and Ritu of Malviya Naga
Initial interrogation of the arrested accused revealed that these people used to take the help of social media to sell children. Usually, they used to contact childless couples willing to adopt by giving advertisements on social media platforms like Facebook pages and WhatsApp groups. The officer said that they also used to buy children from real parents and surrogate mothers and sell them to childless couples. The cost of a new born was four to six lakh rupees. He has also defrauded many childless parents of lakhs of rupees. During the search, Rs 5.5 lakh in cash and several documents related to adoption were recovered from them.
