BJP's Manifesto Committee Discusses 'Viksit Bharat' Agenda
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) kicked off discussions on its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with a focus on the "Viksit Bharat" agenda. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led the committee's first meeting, where Union minister Piyush Goyal disclosed that the party had received over 3.75 lakh suggestions for its manifesto. In parallel developments, the BJP filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his "match-fixing" comments made during an INDIA bloc rally. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri labeled Gandhi's remarks as "extremely objectionable" and potentially violative of the model code of conduct. The Election Commission also reprimanded BJP's Dilip Ghosh and Congress' Supriya Shrinate for derogatory remarks against women, cautioning against such violations during the campaign period. Additionally, amidst speculations about leadership changes in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah appealed to Varuna voters, urging them to ensure a significant lead for the Congress candidate in the upcoming polls to maintain his position. The Lok Sabha elections continue to witness political maneuvering and heated exchanges, setting the stage for a pivotal electoral battle.
